Beautiful melody, enthusiastic showmanship, and pure enjoyment are words that describe The Way Down Wanderers performance at the famed Eddie’s Attic in Decatur, Georgia on October 1. Some bands live to play, and you can see these fellas fit the bill.

Bringing a local tie to the show was Collin Krause, one of the band’s main songwriters. Krause originally has ties to Stone Mountain, Georgia. Most of their songs are up-tempo and “hallelujah worthy,” but they did throw in a couple of slow selections to level off the heart’s BPMs.

A highlight of the show was when the band threw a proper nod to the Avett Brothers with a cover of”The Weight of Lies,” an interlude to “Your Will is a Wildflower.”

As their closing song, the band unplugged and moved to the back of the room, where they belted out a hauntingly beautiful rendition of Blind Melon’s “No Rain.”

Musical bargains are few and far between these days, so take the $15 you were going to spend on a coffee or lunch, and instead go feed your musical soul with a Way Down Wanderers show!
