Daniel Donato Marks Another Momentous Milestone

When you have the talent, drive and focus of Daniel Donato, career milestones are a certainty. Slide&Banjo has well documented the Cosmic Country conductor’s numerous accolades to this point. Going from a teenager busking the Nashville streets for tips to a touring musician is a milestone he took by the horns and made a reality.

Donato’s latest achievement took place February 27th at the sold out Boulder Theater. Instead of playing for a couple of tourists on the street, Donato played in front of his biggest headlining crowd ever. About two thousand Cosmic Cowboys crammed the legendary theater to maximum capacity.

To mark the occasion, Donato and his crew Sugar Leg (keys/guitar), Mustang McGee (bass) and Bronco Clark (drums) unleashed a night of the smoothest yet furious paced music that left the venue and fans shaking.

Donato and his Cosmic Country mission is one of one. There are no musicians within a couple of galaxies creating a sound anything close to the perfectly blended country, spacy, jam fueled passages he finds nightly.

His guitar playing is effortless while seamlessly fast paced. His first leads in the opener Hi Country let it be known the night was one of celebration. Constantly stretching out jam after jam, the entire band delivered an arena worthy performance. Another milestone, Donato should cross off down the road.

For those in attendance, the second set was a legendary as the venue which it was being performed. The perfect example of how far Donato has come and is certain to go was crystal clear in Sugar Leg Rag. The frequencies in the room collided head on with the built up energy to send everyone into levels of jubilation every musician dreams of. The show stopping roar of appreciation from the crowd after the song is a permanent bookmark for Donato’s musical journey. Level complete.

To no one’s surprise, Donato’s calendar is full of tour dates. The perfect opportunity to welcome new members to his journey. Judging by the mind blown gazes of numerous first time travelers in Boulder, it won’t take long for Donato to add multiple milestones to his growing resume.
