Oliver Wood (the Wood Brothers) has just released his first-ever solo track, “Soul Of This Town.” Co-written/recorded with Raleigh, NC-based singer-songwriter Phil Cook, the song is a testament to the times, dealing with loss of “soul” in cities across the U.S.
“They say they cleaned up all the projects, welcomed everyone to stay, but the rent keeps on rising and pushing everybody away,” mourns the song’s narrator. Kieran Wood, Oliver’s son, played horns on the track, the first time the two collaborated on a released recording.
