After a recent tease, it’s been announced that The Brothers – a band comprised of former members of the Allman Brothers Band – will be returning to New York for one night to honor the band’s 50th anniversary. The show will take place on March 10 at Madison Square Garden.
The lineup consists of former ABB members Jaimoe, Derek Trucks, Warren Haynes, Marc Quinones, and Oteil Burbridge. Chuck Leavell, who spent time on tour and recording with the band in the 70s, is billed as a special guest and the group will also be joined by Duane Trucks and Reese Wynans.
Notably absent, however, is Dickie Betts – a founder of the band who was on the outs with members of the band for decades after his removal via fax. Betts did, however, communicate with Gregg Allman near the end of Allman’s life, so his involvement would have been nice.
Pre-sale tickets are available starting January 7, with a public on-sale date on January 10 via Ticketmaster.
