Marco Benevento’s musical influences are limitless. From psychedelia to jazz and everything in between, these references are easily identifiable throughout his musical resume. On his latest release, he threw these influencesˆa studio full of keyboards and other obscure instruments into the pot at once. The result, “Benevento,” is a genre-defying exploration caused by being home-bound during the Covid pandemic.

Westville no match for JRAD

Joe Russo’s Almost Dead finished the second half of its “Go to Haven” concert series at New Haven, Connecticut’s Westville Music Bowl with three more dominating performances. While the shows in May were rain-filled, the sun this time around made everyone in attendance joyous as they walked onto the former tennis courts.

Marco Benevento’s “Let It Slide” – A Delicious Club Sandwich

If Marco Benevento had his way, his new album may have been named Leon, instead of Let It Slide, an homage to the album’s producer Leon Michels. Benevento and Michels met through west coast producer and sound man Richard Swift, who was supposed to mix Let It Slide. Swift, after whom Benevento named his 2014 recording Swift to recognize the amount of work the producer put in, passed away in July, 2018 before the album was mixed and things abruptly changed.
