With the wind at their backs for the first time, LaMP continues to expand all facets of their musical tag team. The fiery, multi-genre instrumental trio of Scott Metzger, Russ Lawton, and Ray Paczkowski are currently in the middle of their first run of Midwest club dates. The tour is shining a Fog light on the results of a collision between Lawton and Paczkowski’s Soule Monde with Metzger’s virtuous guitar playing.
The trio continues to ride a wave of momentum from a one-off show in late 2018. The spark from that magical night at Nectar’s has led to a studio album, live album and plenty of tour dates bringing their jazz infused jam sessions to a growing fanbase.
Slideandbanjo attended the band’s well received Nashville debut at 3rd and Lindsley where they were met with an eager crowd completely open to where the trio wanted to take them. The night was as laid back as it was intense. There didn’t seem to be a setlist. After one song ended, one of the three would call out what song they felt like playing next. The execution of the songs was the complete opposite, showcasing the synergy and shine the band has created in such a short time.
Lawton told Slideandbanjo earlier this year, the band has been in the studio recording their second album. They are also waiting on the vinyl release of their Live at Nectar’s double album which has only been released digitally. Stay tuned as Slideandbanjo will have more as LaMP continues to entrench themselves in the wide open jam band musical world.
